Troxerutin, commonly known as hydroxyethylrutin, vitamin P4, is a hydroxyethyl ether derivative of rutin. At present, it is mainly extracted from the dried flower buds and flowers of the natural plant Sophora japonica - Sophora japonica. As one of the derivatives of rutin, Troxerutin not only inherits the biological activity of rutin, but also has better water solubility than rutin and is easy to be incorporated into cosmetics. Troxerutin can increase the resistance of capillaries, reduce the permeability of capillaries, and relieve the problem of skin redness. Troxerutin has anti-radiation damage and anti-allergic effects, and can be added to sunscreen cosmetics to repair skin sunburn caused by ultraviolet radiation.
