Tetrahydrocurcumin (THC), as an active and main metabolite of curcumin, is hydrogenated from curcumin isolated from the rhizome of turmeric in zingiberaceae. Tetrahydrocurcumin is the main whitening active ingredient in the natural turmeric root extract. It not only has the strongest tyrosinase inhibition activity, but also has excellent chemical stability, and the appearance of tasteless white powder, so as to overcome the defect of common turmeric extract chemical instability easy to make skin staining.
