Rotundine powder, an analgesic drug,is extracted from Japanese stephania root. Odorless, tasteless; case of light yellowish yellowish heat, dissolved in chloro form, slightly soluble in ethanol or ether, insoluble in water; soluble in dilute sulfuric acid. Luo Tong as antipyretic analgesics, clinically used mainly for the treatment of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer pain, menstrual pain, postpartum uterine pain, tension insomnia, spastic cough and so on.
Function
1.Tetrahydropalmatine/Rotundine has the protective effect on liver injury induced by carbon tetr achloride in mice.
2.Tetrahydropalmatine/Rotundine has analgesia and sedative-hypnotic activity, can depress the chtonic persistent pain and splanchna dull pain.
3.Tetrahydropalmatine/Rotundine has effect of promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis and promoting circulation of qi to relieve pain.
4.Tetrahydropalmatine/Rotundine is often used for hypochondriac pain due to stagnation of the liver-qi, stomachache due to stagnation of the stomach-qi, hernial pain.
