 Baicalein is a natural flavone (a type of flavonoid) isolated from scutellaria baicalensis. It isalso known as a dietary flavonoid and phytonutrient along with quercetin, apigenin, luteolin,and myricetin as it is found in high concentrations in various foods such as vegetables, fruits,beverages, and many traditional herbs. Baicalein has been found to have multiple beneficial properties including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and anti-cancer activities. In particular, the anti-allergic effects of baicalein have been verified in asthma, atopic dermatitis,and both Ig E-mediated and systemic allergic responses.

1.Anti-inflammatory and anti allergic reaction: This product alleviates the allergic contraction of guinea pig trachea and the allergic asthma of the whole animal, and has synergistic effect. When the antigen was added to the isolated perfusion fluid of guinea pig, the release of histamine and SRS-A was reduced by weak antihistamine, which was stronger than rutin. It has a inhibitory effect on histamine induced passive systemic hypersensitivity (PSA), passive skin allergy (PCA) and skin reaction. It can inhibit the hypersensitivity edema and inflammation, and can reduce the permeability of mouse ear capillary, and can prevent the lung bleeding caused by low pressure in mice.
